Porn, Trash, and Vaudeville.

With the “Barney’s for the alternative set” about to uproot, where will anyone meet porn stars anymore?

From 1976 until last month, Trash and Vaudeville was one of the last standing punk landmarks on St. Marks Place in New York City.

This iconoclastic emporium was the first place that stocked Doc Martens in the United States. After 41 years, they are headed to the Upper East Side. I wonder if the porn stars will follow.

Porn is a way of expressing what you feel on the inside. And who you want to be inside of — or inside of you. Clothing is how you express yourself on the outside.

This is back in the days when porn videos were still on VHS tapes. With the ink still dry on my diploma, I met my very first porn star on the steps outside Trash and Vaudeville. Romeo Castillo from the Latino Fan Club. For a small town boy, that was a hell of a welcome to the big city.

Trash and Vaudeville came up in conversation, and on GayPornBlog, with the second scene from “Sexperiment“ for NakedSword Originals.

I said that NakedSword exclusive Mickey Taylor and co-star Jacob St. Ladder, “are the kind of guys you would expect to see walking out of Trash and Vaudeville in New York City’s East Village.”

 
Speaking of Trash and Vaudeville and “Sexperiment,” they both came up again in conversation just recently, ironically with director of “Sexperiment,” mr. Pam.

Jimmy Webb is one of the managers at Trash and Vaudeville. He also just happens to be cousins with JD Phoenix. Where was it that mr. Pam happens to meet JD for the first time? Right on the steps of Trash and Vaudeville, the day of the Hookies three Octobers ago.

And JD Phoenix just happens to be in“Sexperiment” with Rocco Steele. Who just happens to be his ex.
